The Ari's Text

However, in Atik Yomin, who is of the aspect of the attribute of mercy of the crown of the Nekudim, where there was never any nullification at all, therefore the aspects of male and female within him, which are MA and BON, mixed together completely, and the two of them are mixed together, each with the other, on the right by itself, and likewise on his left, and they are not like Arich Anpin. And so it is said in Idra Rabba, 129a: ‘There is no left in this hidden Atika, it is all right.’ And the matter is that in Arich Anpin the male is on the right and the female is on the left, but in Atik Yomin, the right side of him includes both MA and BON, and likewise the left side; hence they are equal, and there is no difference between his right and his left. However, the aspects of the female and the male within him are in a different manner: they are two aspects, front and back, meaning that on both his right side and his left side there is the aspect of MA on the front side and the aspect of BON on the back side, and in this there is a wondrous and very great union.

1Male and female within him, which are MA and BON, mixed together completely, etc.; “There is no left in this hidden Atika, it is all right”: For he took the GAR of the Keter of Nekudim, where the GAR of Bina is in completeness, as they were in Nekudim from their own emanation, which is the very light of the Ozen [ear], and was not flawed by the breaking at all. And therefore there is no discernment of left in Atika, meaning that there is no discernment of Nukva there that would be lacking Hassadim, as above. But rather “it is all right.” For even the Nukva of Atik is the discernment of right, meaning that she is in the completion of the Hassadim.
2Front and back, etc.; and in this there is a wondrous and very great union: However, these discernments of posterior are not revealed in him, but rather the front of MA is on one side, and the front of BON is on the second side, and the two discernments of their posterior are between them. And one should not raise the difficulty, from the above, that the discernment of back does not apply in GAR. For in Atik it is different, since the root bottom Hey is hidden within him.
