The Ari's Text

And since Ima is greater without end than Aba, for three reasons: First, that this one is half of Bina of MA and that one is complete Hochma of BON. Second, that this one is Hochma and that one is Bina. Third, that this one is MA, and that one is BON, whose rank grew above MA, being the phase of SAG, as is known that the kings who died are all SAG. Therefore it is found that Ima now came out hidden and clothed within Aba. And for all these aforementioned reasons, both of them are called Aba, or Hochma, alone, since she is not revealed at all. Hence both of them are the Yod in the name, for the Vav and Dalet in the spelling of Yod have the form of a Hey; thus Ima is concealed within the Yod and is not mentioned — only the simple Yod, which is Aba. And this is the secret of “the crown of her husband.”

1And that one is complete Hochma of BON: Meaning true Hochma of BON, for it is the ZAT of the Hochma of BON, that is, the second point of the GAR of Nekudim, which is true Hochma. But the MA is nothing but the Hochma of the Bina of MA, and not true Hochma. And one must not interpret it as being complete Hochma in the GAR, for Atik took the GAR, as is known, and there remained for AVI nothing but the ZAT of Hochma and Bina.
2Both of them are called Aba, or Hochma, alone, since she is not revealed at all: As written above, that there is nothing more in the female than what she takes from the male; and since there is in the male nothing but the level of Bina, it follows that the discernment of Hochma that is in the female is not revealed at all, but only from the level of Bina alone, as above.
