The Ari's Text

Indeed, when these come out to become Mochin [minds] for his Nukva [female], they pierce the Masach [screen] and the Kelim [vessels] of ZA [Zeir Anpin] through his back, and come out and are placed in her head. Then their strength is greatly weakened, and there is no comparing their illumination now to their illumination before they passed through the Masach, for now their illumination is greatly weakened and diminished; therefore they are called females.

1Mochin for his Nukva pierce the screen and the vessels of ZA through his back, etc., and then their strength is greatly weakened: This refers to the Mochin of Katnut for the Nukva, for these Mochin he gives to the Nukva during her Katnut, until she becomes grown and is sawn off from him, as is explained in its place. Therefore, the Gevurot do not come from a coupling of HB of her own, but rather she receives them through the posterior of the Chazeh of ZA, as is explained in its place, and therefore they are greatly weakened, and do not shine.
