The Ari's Text

Thus it is found that this Ibur [impregnation] is not to emanate ZON anew, for they had already been emanated; rather, they were without the correction of lines and without a Partzuf, and also they were lacking — this one from VAK alone and that one from a single point alone. Now, the Ibur was to bind them together in the secret of lines, and also in the secret of a Partzuf, and also to complete each one with ten complete Sefirot. And this is through the drops of AVI, and through the new name MA, which has been explained above.

1The Ibur [impregnation] is not to emanate ZON anew, for they had already been emanated: That is, from the discernment of what came out in ZAT of Nekudim. And although these vessels fell to BYA, still all their records remained in Atzilut, as is known — for the matter of the records is to return and draw to the vessels all the lights that they already had at the time of Nekudim. Therefore this is not reckoned a wholly new emanation, but only the discernment of a correction for ZON, who had already come out in the world of Nekudim.
2The drops of AVI, and through the new name MA: That is to say, the beginning of the correction is made for ZON through the drops of the coupling of AVI, by the power of the inclusion of ZON within them in the secret of the Ibur, as above. And their Mochin of GAR come to them in the secret of the new MA, which is the secret of the drop of Aba that brings down the bottom Hey from the Einayim and raises their AHP to their degree, as is known. In truth, all the couplings and levels that come out in the world of Atzilut are reckoned under the name of the new MA; but the essence of the name MA indicates HaVaYaH in the filling of Alfin — this HaVaYaH is not revealed to them except at the time of Gadlut, since the Mochin of the couplings of AVI of Katnut are in the discernment of the names Elohim, as is written in its place. Hence the ARI divides the measure of correction into two discernments: for Katnut, through the first Ibur mentioned above; and for Gadlut, through the new MA.
