The Ari's Text

*And we shall now explain the matter of the second Ibur, for the need of the Mochin of birth. And with this will be understood what is said in the portion Acharei Mot, page 65, column 2, line 24, and this is its language: 'And Ima nursed two sons, and she became pregnant from them, and afterward brought them forth, etc.' Now, this language is very difficult to comprehend, for he should have said, 'And she became pregnant from them at first, and afterward she nursed them,' for the Ibur precedes the nursing. And furthermore it implies that after they were literally actual sons, she returned and became pregnant from them. And all this must be understood.

1The second Ibur [impregnation], for the need of the Mochin of birth: It is the Ibur that comes after nine years and one day, for then it is fit for the Mochin of birth. And this Ibur is sometimes called, in the words of the ARI, by the name the third Ibur, and this is for the reason that there is an Ibur that comes after the two years of nursing, for the attainment of GAR of Ruach, which is the second Ibur, as above. (Part 12, item 102) And this Ibur, which comes for the need of the Mochin of Gadlut [greatness/adulthood], is called the third Ibur, or the second Ibur of Mochin, and this is to exclude it from the second Ibur that comes after the two years, which is not for the discernment of Mochin, but rather for the completion of GAR of Ruach, as stated there. Study it there well.
