The Ari's Text

*In the Tikunim, page 9b, in the introduction, and this is its language: "And the spreading of the upper Hey, until Hod, in the letter Yod, it is," etc. Also in other places we find in the Zohar that the upper Ima spreads until Hod. And the matter, with the above, is that the spreading of the NHY of Ima within ZA, in the secret of the Mochin above, its spreading did not reach except until the Hod of ZA; but the Yesod of ZA was not made from Ima, for her Yesod did not spread except until there, as above; for the Yesod of Ima is called air, in the secret of a tower flying in the air, which we mentioned above.

1The Yesod of ZA was not made from Ima, for her Yesod did not expand, etc.; the Yesod of Ima is called a tower flying in the air. The discernment of the Bina of AA that went outside the Rosh [head] and became Keter for AA is called a tower flying in the air; for “tower” [Migdal] is an expression of Gadlut [greatness/adulthood] and of GAR [first three], and “air” means Hassadim, that is, the light of Ruach, which is Hassadim; and since she is the discernment of covered Hassadim, therefore her Gadlut too is regarded as being in the secret of a tower flying in the air. (See above in the words of the ARI, page 1048, items 73 and 78; and page 1115, answer 129; and page 1075, item 135.)
Therefore, up to the place to which the Yesod of Ima expanded within ZA, the illumination of Hochma cannot be revealed there, that is, until the Chazeh [chest], as is known. It has also been explained in the preceding parts that the whole principal part of the NHY of Gadlut of ZA is for the discernment of revealed Hassadim in the illumination of Hochma, which are revealed in the middle line from the Chazeh downward. And likewise the whole principal part of the Yesod of Gadlut is the discernment of the Hesed that is revealed at the mouth of the membrum, which means revealed Hassadim in the illumination of Hochma. Therefore the Yesod of ZA is not made from the upper Ima, but through the drawing of AA, as is written before us.
