Part 15 · Chapter 100

The Ari's Text

And by means of this raising of Mayin Nukvin, Aba and Ima couple, and from the illumination of that coupling they build and correct the female, and draw down into her other mochin in that point which is in her. And she grows, and nine other points are added to her, and she becomes a complete Partzuf of ten Sefirot, and she stands with him back to back, from his Chazeh and below. And this building is done by means of the casting of the deep sleep (Durmita) upon ZA.

1They build and correct the female, and draw down into her new Mochin, etc., and she stands with him back to back from the Chazeh and below. And seemingly this is against what was explained above in this part, item 85, and on page 777, item 67, that ZA builds the Nukva in the secret of Butzina de Kardinuta [the lamp of darkness], which makes an orifice behind the Chazeh [chest], and from there she receives her nine Sefirot from the Chazeh downward, back to back. Whereas here he says that AVI build the Partzuf of the Nukva back to back from the Chazeh of ZA downward. Indeed, it has already been explained in the adjacent item that the Mochin of the building of the Nukva emerge by way of the inclusion of ZON in AVI in the secret of MAN [Mayin Nukvin]; but the Nukva cannot receive them directly from AVI, only through the intermediary of ZA, who arouses within himself the screen of the discernment of his Katnut, which is called Butzina de Kardinuta, and through there he measures out to her her Mochin of VAK. And the matter of this orifice, which is made behind the Chazeh for her sake, has already been well explained above, page 859, answer 160. See there.
2Back to back from his Chazeh and below, and this building is done by means of the casting of Durmita [deep slumber] upon ZA. And seemingly this contradicts what is written above, that by means of the Durmita the building of the female was made back to back in an equal level. However, the matter of Durmita means the raising of MAN [Mayin Nukvin], and every raising of MAN may be called by the name Durmita and sleep, whose meaning is the departure of the GAR upward to AVI and his inclusion there in the screen of AVI; and it is found that below there is in him only the discernment of the Guf [body] alone, without any Mochin, but only the discernment of Kista de Chayuta [the measure of vitality], which is only a small record from the Mochin of GAR, as the ARI wrote above, page 1734, item 92. See there. And therefore now too, when ZA has risen as MAN for the sake of the Mochin of VAK of the Nukva from the discernment of back to back from the Chazeh [chest] downward, that rising of MAN is likewise called by the name Durmita. However, there is no discernment of sawing here, for there is no sawing of the posterior except in the Mochin of the Gadlut [greatness/adulthood] of the Nukva, as above, page 1736, the passage beginning “And therefore.” See there.
