The Ari's Text

And the matter of the taking of this side of Gevura by the Nukva is what is called in the language of the Zohar the embrace of the left; for by this her judgments are sweetened, as mentioned. In that during the time of the deep sleep, the matter of the embrace of the left comes, and then her judgments are mitigated, and then is the sawing. And these three aspects are done together: for by the deep sleep the female has no suckling from the male, and then they separate from their backs and are sawed; and then the side of Gevura and the Bina of ZA enter into her in the aspect of mochin; and this is the embrace of the left. Understand all this well.

1And these three discernments are made together, for through the Durmita [deep slumber] the female has no nursing by way of the male; then they separate from the posterior and are sawn, and then the Atara of Gevura and the Bina of ZA enter into her in the secret of Mochin. For in truth all these three discernments are only the matter of the raising of MAN [Mayin Nukvin] and their inclusion in the coupling of AVI, whereby through that coupling they receive the drop of the coupling from AB, which brings the bottom Hey down from the Einayim and returns the AHP, which are new NHY that complete the ten Sefirot of the Nukva, whereby she attains the GAR of the lights of BON, as above. Except that there are three discernments here. The first is the Durmita, that is, the raising of MAN. The second is the sawing, that is, the inclusion of the Nukva there in the NHY of Ima, whereby she receives from her the drop of the coupling that completes her posterior, which are the NHY of vessels, by which she is sawn off from ZA, after she attains a posterior of her own. The third is the GAR of the lights of BON that she receives there, which are the Bina and the Atara of Gevura that become Mochin for her. And these two discernments come together at the time of their rising as MAN, as explained.
