The Ari's Text

And so did all the seven generations, until they raised her above the seven lower firmaments within her; and then all her ZAT are included in her GAR, and those GAR within her stood opposite the three upper of the NHY of ZA, and held onto them back to back, and all her ZAT are included there. And all the remainder of the NHY of ZA remained revealed, without a garment, and hang down below the measure of the stature of the Nukva; and then the world was conducted by ZA.

Explanation: after the sin of Adam HaRishon, on the first day after the first Shabbat, the Nukva returned and was corrected into a complete Partzuf of ten Sefirot from the Chazeh downward of ZA, back to back, as above in the words of the ARI in item 24. See there. And after this, through the sins of the generations, the lights of that Partzuf departed, and there remained of it only the light of Nefesh alone, in the vessels of KHB, as is known from the inverse relation between vessels and lights. And this departure was according to the order of the degree, as written in the order of the departure of the Partzufim of AK in part 5: that at first the light of the Malchut ascended into the vessel of Yesod, and from Yesod to Hod, and so on, until it departed entirely. See there. And here the light of Nefesh remained in the vessels of GAR, as the ARI writes, that her ZAT were included in her GAR.
And one should not object: since this departure of the Shechina through the seven firmaments was because of the sin of those generations, then the nine lower ones of the Nukva should have needed to descend to BYA, into the shells, as the ARI wrote above in item 22, after the sin of Adam HaRishon. And one must distinguish, for here there was no departure of a whole degree, since there still remained of the Partzuf the discernment of the light of Nefesh in its vessels of GAR, as above, and therefore there was here no descent into the shells.
