Part 15 · Chapter 72

The Ari's Text

And behold, three divisions were completed in her: her Yesod, her Malchut, and her Daat, which are the organs of procreation, which are made only from MaH. And upon their return face to face, he gave her, in the first coupling, the name BaN in the aspect of Gadlut, and she was completed. And afterward, in the second coupling, he gave her the MaH, which are the Hasadim, for the sake of the souls.

Inner Light

This commentary hasn't been matched to individual seifim yet — items are shown in reading order, and the number beside each one counts the notes themselves, not the seifim of the Ari's text.

Not matched to a seif

1And upon their return face to face, he gave her, in the first coupling, the name BON in the discernment of Gadlut [greatness/adulthood], and she was completed; and afterward, in the second coupling, he gave her the MA, which are the Hassadim, for the sake of the souls. It has already been explained in the adjacent item that the coupling for the completion of the vessels alone is called by the name BON. And behold, the first coupling of the name BON that is brought in the adjacent item was from the discernment of Ima, not by means of ZA, as is written below. And therefore a second coupling by means of ZA is still needed, and then her vessels are completed entirely. And after this the second coupling is made by means of ZA, to draw to her the lights of GAR, which is regarded as the discernment of MA, and for the Mochin of birth, as is written further on.
