And since the female at her beginning received her illumination through ZA, she was therefore inferior to him, and could not be corrected in the aspect of a complete Partzuf. Then the Supreme Emanator had to cast a deep sleep upon the man, which is ZA. And then ZA alone, in the aspect of his soul, which departs from him at the time of the deep sleep and slumber, ascends above in the aspect of Mayin Nukvin to the Supernal Ima, in the manner of a man who deposits his soul in the hand of Malchut for the sake of its Mayin Nukvin, as explained above on the verse "Into Your hand I entrust my spirit," said at night when a man sleeps upon his bed.
