Because then Lilith spread out and became a complete Partzuf in ten Sefirot, and those nine sparks of the Nukva of Atzilut were clothed in her nine first Sefirot, and that spark of the minute illumination that was in her at first, as stated above, descended into her tenth Sefira.

1Lilith spread out and became a complete Partzuf in ten Sefirot, and those nine sparks of the Nukva were clothed in her nine first Sefirot. This is the secret of “I shall be filled with her that is laid waste,” in that the shell is built only from the lack of holiness, for all those nine first Sefirot that departed from the Nukva because of the sin of Adam HaRishon, all of them fell to the Nukva of the shells, and she is built from them into a complete Partzuf of ten Sefirot. However, the lights of the nine Sefirot of the Nukva do not fall into the shells whatsoever, for they departed to their root; and only the discernment of the sparks and the vessels of the nine first ones of the Nukva fell into the shells. And this is what the ARI is precise about, “and those nine sparks of the Nukva were clothed in her nine first Sefirot,” to let us know that only the discernment of sparks and vessels fall below, and not lights, whatsoever. For in the lights nothing applies except expansion and departure alone. As the ARI wrote in Etz Chaim, Gate 6, Chapter 8.
