The Ari's Text

And the Yesod is male, and is not from the side of Bina, for she is female; therefore her spreading is not within it, but only until Hod; and Hod was given to Moshe, as is stated in the Tikkunim, and in the Ra'aya Mehemna. Nevertheless, the upper point of Tzion, which is in Bina, is within it, although it is not recognizable; and there is found in it revealed male power and hidden female power. And in this aspect the Yesod is called Tzion in many places.

1The upper point of Tzion, which is in Bina, is within it, although it is not recognizable; and there is found in it revealed male power and hidden female power. Meaning, that what he says — that the Yesod is not from Bina because it is male — is the discernment of the male power in it, which is the discernment of the direct light that is in the Yesod. However, the discernment of the screen in it, upon which the coupling by striking is made, is drawn from Bina, and it is called hidden female power; that is to say, the discernment of the screen that repels the light to its posterior and hides it, whereby the reflected light rises and clothes the direct light, as is known.
