1Its root is only the Lamed alone of Tzelem, which alludes to the SAG of Tevuna, etc., the three Sefirot of NHY of Tevuna, for they are the revealed ones, not the Mochin themselves: As said above, that the Mem is the discernment of the upper AVI of the third Tevuna, up to its Chazeh. And the Lamed is the discernment of YESHSUT of the third Tevuna, from its Chazeh and below. They are the three Sefirot of NHY of the third Tevuna. And therefore the discernment of the Mem is the four Yudin of HaVaYaH of AB, and Ima is Ehyeh of Yudin, like the general AVI. But the NHY of this Tevuna, which is the Lamed of Tzelem, is HaVaYaH of SAG, like the general YESHSUT. And the discernment between them is that in the upper AVI the Hassadim are covered, and the HG in them are not united to ascend and strike upon the HB in them, and to bring the illumination of Hochma outward, and therefore they are four Mochin; but in the NHY of Tevuna, which are YESHSUT, the Hassadim are revealed with the illumination of Hochma, and the HG in them strike upon the HB, and reveal their illuminations within the Hassadim, and therefore the HG are reckoned as one brain, called Daat. And this is what he says, “for they are the revealed ones, and not the Mochin themselves”: for although the Mochin themselves are four — since the Hesed and Gevura in them do not become one, inasmuch as they come from the upper AVI — nevertheless, after they descend to the NHY of Tevuna, which are YESHSUT, the power of covering in them becomes concealed, and the NHY of the Tevuna dominate, and they unite the HG to reveal the illumination of Hochma in the Hassadim, and both of them become one brain.
