And this is what is said in Parashat Bereshit, another interpretation: "And as the image of the covenant was sown in forty-two couplings." The explanation is that the Yesod of Arich, called the covenant, had forty-two couplings sown in it, meaning forty-two pairs, for they are twice forty-two as mentioned, which descended from the throat into it, and were sown from these forty-two doubled pairs, which are twice forty-two as mentioned.
