And behold, in what we have explained, several discourses and sayings of our sages from the Zohar, which seem to contradict one another, will be explained to you. For behold, in the Zohar of Lech Lecha and in many places it is explained that after Chatzot the Holy One, blessed be He, delights in the souls of the righteous of this world, who engage in Torah at Chatzot, and as it is written: 'companions hearkening to your voice, etc.' And in another place in the Zohar it implies that at Chatzot is the time of the upper coupling of ZON. And in other places it implies that this coupling of Chatzot is the coupling of AVI. And for this reason it is hidden and concealed, and is done by itself, not through the deed of the lower ones and their prayer. And behold, three places and three things contradicting one another.
