And behold, if before the emergence of Adam HaRishon ZON were in the aspect of face to face, their backs would be exposed, and the Klipot would cling to them greatly. Therefore, in order that the Klipot not cling to their backs, they had to adhere back to back with a truly complete adhesion, from the Chazeh of ZA downward, as is known. And then, by this, the Klipot cannot enter between them to cling there to their backs; and behold, all the back of the female is covered, but the back of the male, from the Chazeh upward, was exposed.

1A truly complete adhesion from the Chazeh of ZA and below etc. But the posteriors of the male from the Chazeh and above were exposed. The matter of this adhesion is that both of them make use of one wall, of the Hod of ZA, for then the NH of ZA are reckoned as a single Guf [body], and there is no revelation whatsoever to the discernment of the Netzah, as written above (page 1724, the passage beginning “And this is what he says”). See there. And this whole adhesion of Netzah and Hod into a single Guf is only for the sake of the Nukva; but with respect to ZA himself, who even then has the Mochin of the Neshama, the NH are already reckoned as separated from one another, as written above (page 1725, the passage beginning “And this is what he says”), etc. See there well. And this is what he says, “but the posteriors of the male from the Chazeh and above were exposed,” for he is already, in himself, in the discernment of Gadlut [greatness/adulthood], and in the Mochin of Gadlut the externals have no grip, as is known.
