It follows that when they are face to face, then Zeir Anpin has Panim and Achor of MaH of MaH, and of MaH of BaN; and likewise the Nukva has Panim and Achor of BaN of MaH, and Panim and Achor of BaN of BaN. However, it is found that every Sefirah of the ten Sefirot of ZA or of the Nukva has in it Panim and Achor of MaH, and Panim and Achor of BaN. And all this is in the matter of the externals, which are the vessels; and likewise in the matter of the lights — inner and surrounding, from the Panim and Achor of MaH, and inner and surrounding from the Panim and Achor of BaN. (But the doubt that I have is whether the circles were made from BaN and the straight line from MaH, or the circles from the Achor of BaN and the straight line from the Panim and Achor of MaH and from the Panim of BaN. And these doubts depend on the doubts that we explained in the RDLA; see there.)

1Face to face, then ZA has the face and posterior of MA of MA, and the face and posterior of MA of BON; and likewise the Nukva has the face and posterior of BON of MA and of BON of BON. For just as was explained above with regard to the Nukva that is in the body of ZA, that she is entirely BON, since she took the BON of Aba and the BON of Ima, which are Bina and Gevura of Aba, called BON of MA, and Bina and Gevura of Ima, called BON of BON; and ZA is entirely MA, since he took the MA of Aba and the MA of Ima, which are Hochma and Hesed of Aba, called MA of MA, and Hochma and Hesed of Ima, called MA of BON. (See above, page 1763, the passage beginning “Before.”) So it is exactly with ZA and Rachel face to face: that ZA is entirely MA, that is, MA of MA and MA of BON, which are Hochma and Hesed of AVI; and the Nukva is entirely BON, which are Bina and Gevura of AVI, for the whole discernment of the Nukva that was in his body passed over to the discernment of Rachel, as above. And all this is said with regard to the building of the Partzuf of ZA and Rachel. But in the discernment of the coupling of face to face, he gives her also the discernment of MA, for the need of the birth of the souls of males and females. For the males come into the world from the discernment of MA, either from the MA of Aba or from the MA of Ima; and the females come into the world from the discernment of BON, either from the BON of Aba or from the BON of Ima, as is written further on.
