And the matter is this: for the first coupling of Aba and Ima, the superior one, is for the need of ZON of Atzilut themselves, that they may give birth to truly new souls of the righteous. And the second coupling of Aba and Ima of Atzilut is inferior to it; therefore it is for the need of Aba and Ima of Beria, that they give the Mochin to ZON of Beria, to give birth to truly new souls of the angels. For since the coupling of Aba and Ima reaches there, there is there a real aspect of coupling and procreation — this being the secret of her "conjugal right" (Onata) stated in the Torah. For through it — the illumination of the coupling of Aba and Ima in her — there is also in Beria an aspect of Mochin, for there are Aba and Ima there, as above, in the secret of "Ima nests in the throne in three Sefirot." But since this second coupling is more inferior, they do not give birth to souls, but only to angels, for the world of Yetzira.
