Part 16 · Chapter 228

The Ari's Text

And behold, the two lower ones of AA of Yetzirah are clothed in Aba and Ima, and one point of them — for it is three within three — from its three Sefirot remains revealed. And Atik of Yetzirah is the point of Malchut of Beriah, which descended here and was clothed in this third, revealed Sefira, as will be explained with God's help.

Inner Light

This commentary hasn't been matched to individual seifim yet — items are shown in reading order, and the number beside each one counts the notes themselves, not the seifim of the Ari's text.

Not matched to a seif

1And behold, the two lower ones of AA of Yetzira are clothed in AVI, and one point of them, from the three Sefirot in it, remains revealed, for it is three within three. (as it should read) It appears that there is a scribal emendation here. For in Sha’ar HaHakdamot [Gate of the Introductions] he brings that same discourse, and there it is written that the first discernment is revealed, and it does not say the first point. See there. And the explanation is: that there is also here the discernment of the NHY of Atik, as the ARI wrote in Etz Chaim, Gate 42, Chapter 13, and these are his words: For the feet of Atik shine through the feet of AA, etc., until the feet of ZON shine and pass through this screen to Beria. End of quote. Thus it is explicit that there is also here the NHY of Atik. And as is written in the adjacent item, that the TNHY of AA were divided into three discernments for the purpose of BYA, so too the NHY of Atik were divided into three discernments for the purpose of BYA. And it was explained above that they took their garments of AA with them, that is, the HGT NHY of AA, for the NHY of Atik are clothed in the HGT NHY of AA, for therefore the HGT of Atik became a revealed head, in which Atik of Beria is clothed. See there. And therefore these HGT NHY of AA were divided into six thirds: the upper two thirds clothe Atik of Beria, and became a revealed head. And the middle two thirds clothe Atik of Yetzira, and they became a revealed head. And the bottom two thirds clothe Atik of Assiya. And through this you will understand what the ARI wrote, that the first discernment of AA became a revealed head, and in it Atik of Yetzira is clothed — the intention is the discernment of the middle two thirds of the VAK of AA, which relate to the garment of Atik. For a revealed head always means the discernment of Radla [the unknown head], and not the Rosh [head] of AA.
