And behold, when Hochma of Arich coupled, in the secret of kissing, with its Malchut — which is Bina in relation to the whole of Arich, and which is the throat, as mentioned — in order to beget AVI and bring them forth so that they would clothe Arich, from his throat down to his Tabur, as mentioned: then the drop of that begetting went out from the name AB that is in this Hochma, for the drop of seed is always drawn only from there, and that drop was the discernment of AVI. And Hochma gave it to Bina, which is always the secret of the throat, in every place, according to whatever discernment it may be. And this Bina is the name SAG, and that drop clothed there in the secret of pregnancy. Then AVI came out there from the aforementioned throat, and the two of them came out equal, ‘as one they go out, as one they dwell,’ etc. And the reason for this is that they came out from the name SAG alone, which is the throat, as mentioned.

1Hochma of Arich, in the secret of kissing, with its Malchut, which is Bina in relation to the whole of Arich, and which is the throat, in order to beget AVI, etc.: For the head of AA is AB, meaning Hochma, which is the root of the Hochma of Atzilut, which is the secret of Mocha Stimaa [the concealed brain] within it, and it is called ‘Stimaa,’ because it is covered by a membrane beneath it, so that it does not open. That is: the screen beneath it never breaks — that is, even at the time it bestows the drop of its coupling, which brings down the bottom Hey from the Einayim of SAG, and all the Parsaot break, meaning that the boundary within them is nullified for that time, until they suffice to raise their fallen AHP, and restore them to their former connection, as above. Now these breaches occur only from Mocha Stimaa downward, but its own membrane does not break and does not open, and remains sealed as it was, without any change. And the matter of the drop that descends to SAG is not from the discernment of its light of Hochma, but only from the discernment of Hassadim alone. And since this drop of Hesed goes out from the original Hochma of AA, it is therefore enough and sufficient to open and breach the Parsaot of the Partzufim below it, as above. For it brings down the bottom Hey from the Einayim, and the Parsaot are nullified for that time, and AVI attain NHY of vessels and GAR of lights, for the Hesed of Mocha Stimaa is regarded, in relation to the lower ones, as the discernment of Hochma.
And as for the matter of the throat, you already know that it is the discernment of Bina that went out from the head of AA, that went out from the head of AA — this is still drawn from the original Bina of the ten Sefirot of direct light, where Hochma and Bina are in the discernment of posterior to each other, for Bina stands there in the secret of ‘for He desires mercy,’ and therefore Bina went out from the head of AA, for she is in the discernment of posterior to Mocha Stimaa, and she nurses only lights of Hassadim from Atik, as is known.
And this is what it says, ‘Hochma of Arich coupled, in the secret of kissing, with its Malchut,’ for they are regarded as two Partzufim, upper and lower, the lower receiving from the Malchut of the upper, as above in the preceding discourses, that the lower receives from the externality of the Malchut of the upper. You should also know that they are receivers, each from its counterpart discernment in AK, so that Mocha Stimaa receives from the AB of AK, and the throat receives from the SAG of AK.
2The drop of seed is drawn only from there: That is, the drop of seed for the begetting of souls and offspring, which need the illumination of Hochma, and the illumination of Hochma is drawn only through the drop of Hesed of Mocha Stimaa, which brings down the bottom Hey and breaches the Parsa, and bestows the illumination of Hochma, as above. And from this comes the following rule, that the drop of seed of begetting is drawn only from the discernment of AB.
3And that drop clothed there in the secret of Ibur [impregnation]: Every ascent of the lower to the upper and its inclusion there in the coupling of the upper is called by the name Ibur, but for the discernment of a coupling of Katnut it is called the first Ibur, and for the discernment of a coupling of Gadlut it is called the second Ibur.
4AVI came out there from the throat, ‘as one they go out, as one they dwell’: Meaning, that AVI are always at an equal level — both at the time they are in the unceasing coupling, in order to sustain the worlds, and at the time of the coupling of Gadlut for the begetting of souls. And the reason for this is that AVI of Atzilut are both from the discernment of the name HaVaYaH of SAG, except that they also have the discernment of AB of clothing, similar to the SAG of AK, whose Taamim have the level of AB of clothing, as above; and therefore Aba is regarded as the discernment of the level of AB of clothing, and Ima is the level of SAG. And since the discernment of the clothing of AB does not go out except through the coarseness of phase two of Ima, who partners with him, as is known, therefore both are regarded as an equal level.
