And the matter of this striking was explained, and this is the secret of the Botsina deKardinuta, which is what gives measure and amount, and is called the line of measure. And the reason: the Hesed spreads in abundance without limit, but the Gevura, which is judgment, gives a limit to the abundance, so that it will not spread more than is fitting to the receivers. Therefore the Botsina deKardinuta "measures and makes all those measure-lines" [mesure], as it is called in the Zohar, Pekudei, page 233, and in the Tikkunim, page 15, and in the Tikkunim of the writing hand, and in the Zohar Chadash, VaEtchanan, page 122.
