Now, there are three foreskins, corresponding to 'three years shall they be uncircumcised for you, etc.,' and three more years of foreskin must pass over him, and then he is twelve years and one day; and afterward he still needs the fourth year, to be 'his fruit holy, for praises,' as is known; and at the completion of that year, behold he is thirteen years and one day, and then he ascends in the secret of MAN to the upper Malchut, like the rest of the lower souls. But with less than the time of thirteen years and one day, no soul can ascend in the secret of MAN at all.
