  1. You also need to know another rule: behold, it is known to us that all the worlds contain two aspects — the aspect of the internality of the worlds and the aspect of their externality. And behold, then both aspects — the internal and the external — ascended.

  1. 1The internality of the worlds and the discernment of their externality. And behold, then both discernments — the internal and the external — ascended: Behold, it has been explained above in the adjacent item that there are two discernments in BYA: the first is the place of BYA, which is made from vessels that are from the Chazeh [chest] downward of the Partzuf of the Nekudot of SAG. And the second is the sortings of the posterior of the seven kings, which had already attained the illumination of Atzilut at the time of the Gadlut [greatness/adulthood] of the seven kings, and had they not expanded below the Parsa they would have endured and not broken, and therefore all their correction is to return and raise them above the Parsa; and from them the Partzufim [pl. of Partzuf] and the three worlds BYA were made. And know that the vessels of the place of BYA are what is called the externality of the worlds BYA, and the discernment of the posterior vessels of the ZAT of Nekudim that broke, and from which the worlds and the Partzufim of BYA were corrected, is what is called the internality of the worlds.
And this is what he says: “And behold, then the two discernments, the internal and the external, ascended” — for even the discernment from the Chazeh upward of the place of BYA, which is the externality of the worlds, as above, also had an ascent to Atzilut. Not so after the sin of Adam HaRishon, when Yetzira and Assiya descended below the Chazeh of the place of BYA: behold, because of this the part from the Chazeh upward became joined with the part from the Chazeh downward, and therefore there is no longer any ascent of the place of BYA to Atzilut throughout the six thousand years; and this is because of its joining with its part from the Chazeh downward, from which the shells are never nullified until the end of correction, as written above.
