And from these — AB [72] and RIU [216] — the Mochin of ZA [Zeir Anpin] are made. Thus the pure air [Avira Dachya] and the pure fire [Esha Dachya] mentioned in the Yesod of Ima were joined, and from them the Galgalta [skull] of ZA was corrected, as mentioned in the Idra; and by the power of these two, the Daat of ZA is made. And you already know that the Daat of ZA is made of the Yesod of Aba and the Yesod of Ima — which is this very matter we have spoken of; understand it. And since this Avira [air], after Aba bequeathed it to Ima, is called hers — this is why we say that the NHY [Netzah, Hod, Yesod] of Ima are the Mochin of ZA, and we do not count Aba: for even the Avira that came out of him is already reckoned as of Ima herself.

1The AB and RIU become the Mochin of ZA: Just as was explained above regarding the Mochin of the Nukva, so it is also with ZA — that through his rising in the inclusion of the coupling in AVI, AVI, who are AB and SAG, couple in the discernment of face to face; and then the illumination of AB brings down the bottom Hey from the Einayim of Ima, where ZA is included. And then ZA attains his posterior, which are the vessels of Bina and ZON together with their lights of the three [discernments of] AB, whose Gematria is RIU; and also his Mochin of Gadlut, which are the male AB, as above. And then he is completed and descends to his place. Thus the Mochin of ZA, too, are the discernment of AB and RIU, bestowed upon him from AVI.
2The pure air and the pure fire, etc.; and by the power of these two the Daat of ZA is made: Meaning, the discernment of the vessel and the Ruach that raises the MAN mentioned above is the secret of the pure air, and it comprises the five Hassadim — namely, the illumination of AB mentioned, which is the male waters. And the discernment of the MAN of Ima, which is the secret of the five Gevurot, is called the pure fire. And the two of them together are the secret of AB and RIU, from which the Mochin of ZA are made, as said in the adjacent item; study it there well. Namely, at the time of his rising as MAN, in the inclusion of the coupling in AVI, to attain there his Mochin of Gadlut — for then he receives from the light of the coupling of AB and SAG, which brings down his bottom Hey from the Einayim, and his AHP return to the degree, so that his NHY of vessels and GAR of lights are completed for him, as above. Now this coupling is discerned as being in the vessels of AVI; therefore those NHY that rose to complete the stature of the ten Sefirot of Gadlut of ZA joined within the vessels of AVI, for the coupling is made in the NHY of AVI, but only from the discernment of externality, which is the degree of ZA. Therefore those new NHY that were added through the power of the coupling in AVI are discerned in this way: the vessels are of AVI themselves, but the stature of the light is the stature of ZA, since the coupling is made over the MAN of ZA. Therefore, once ZA is born, he takes with him those NHY of AVI mentioned, since the stature of the light within them is not of the degree of AVI but of the degree of ZA, and they clothe within the discernment of the internality of ZA, in the discernment of garments of Mochin. (As we elaborated above, page 637, the passage beginning “now you will understand”; study it there well.) And this is what he said, “and by the power of these two the Daat of ZA is made” — namely, from the discernment of the Yesodot of AVI a garment is made for the Daat of ZA, and within them is that pure air and pure fire. And from the discernment of NH [Netzah, Hod] of AVI, in which are the GAR — namely, the male AB mentioned — these are the discernment of HB [Hochma, Bina] of ZA, and NH are garments for this HB, since NH are the discernment of GAR, and Yesod is the discernment of ZA, as is known. Therefore the discernment of the pure fire and the pure air clothe within the Yesod, being of the discernment of RIU mentioned; and the discernment of the male AB, which is the discernment of the GAR, HB, clothe within NH.
