Thus the matter of the door and the hinge has been explained: they are the twenty-two letters inscribed in her Yesod. And within this door and hinge are the MAN [Mayin Nukvin] themselves, and they are the five doubled letters of the alphabet, the letters MaNTzePaCh [Mem-Nun-Tzadi-Peh-Chaf], which are the five Gevurot in the Nukva [female], which descend into the Yesod in her and are inscribed there. And these letters of MaNTzePaCh are the MAN that she raises opposite the MAD [Mayin Duchrin] that are drawn to her from the male. Afterwards, when the shape of the newborn takes form, it is by means of all the other twenty-two letters, which are the door and the hinge, as mentioned.
