And the matter is that relative to the particularity of the ten Sefirot within each aspect, they are reckoned as two ears and as two eyes, as above, and the like. But relative to the totality of the whole head as it is, the two ears, or the two eyes, or the two apertures of the nose, are reckoned only as one. And this is the reason that the first chapter of Sifra deTzniuta says "the open eye" (ashgacha pekicha) in the singular, and does not say "open eyes," because there is there only one eye; and likewise "the aperture of the nose" (nukva dePardeshka), for it does not say "apertures" in the plural.
