And the reason they are shekels (shekel) is also as mentioned, for "shekel" in gematria is three hundred and thirty: the three hundred are the four Yods, and the thirty are the Name itself, simple, which is in gematria twenty-six, and its four letters, making thirty. And because the Name has only the first Yod alone, since the other three Yods come in the manner of an addition of the filling, therefore the reckoning began from below upward, in their order, as above, because the filling is inferior to the simple [letters]. Therefore it began with the Shin of "shekel," which are the three Yods of the filling, each one included of ten, which are three hundred; and then the Yod itself, the first one, of the root of the Name, included of ten, making the hundred of "shekel"; and afterwards the totality of the Name itself, which is twenty-six, and its four letters, making "shekel" [three hundred and thirty].
