And the reason of the matter is as is known: that Netzah is in the secret of Tifferet, and Hod is in the secret of Malchut, as is said in the book of the Tikunim: "He is in Netzah and she is in Hod." And this is the secret that Netzah and Hod are called the skies [Shahakim], which are two millstones, one above the other, that grind the manna for the righteous, who are Tzadik and Tzedek.

1Netzah is in the secret of Tifferet, and Hod is in the secret of Malchut. This has been well explained in the previous parts: that just as there are five discernments in the complete ten Sefirot of Hochma, which are KHB ZON, so there are five discernments in the ten Sefirot of the level of phase one, that is, in the level of the Hassadim alone, which are HGT NH, where the KHB descend to be HGT; and therefore HGT are reckoned as the three first discernments, KHB. And Netzah is the discernment of ZA, and Hod is the last discernment, who is the Nukva. And this matter applies in all the ZAT of the five Partzufim, since all the ZAT are a level of Hassadim of phase one.
And this is what he says: “the Sefira of Netzah of AA, and of AVI, and of ZA — all of them are shorter than the measure of the Hod in them, etc.; for Netzah is in the secret of Tifferet, and Hod is in the secret of Malchut.” For the GAR that are in every Guf [body] of the five Partzufim are the discernment of KHB that were included and descended to the discernment of HGT, and NH are ZON, as explained; and therefore Netzah is higher than Hod, since Malchut is always beneath ZA.
