And also what the Sages said, that in the days of Purim one gives to whoever stretches out his hand — the matter is that the charity collector (gabbai) is the Yesod; and on the weekdays, which is the Yesod of ZA, one must see to whom he gives the charity. But now, since it is the Yesod of Aba, a great illumination, there is no need to be particular; rather, one gives to whoever stretches out his hand.

1In the days of Purim one gives to whoever stretches out his hand, etc. For the discernment of the Malchut of the second restriction is called a lock, as above, in the secret of the verse “passing upon the handles of the lock.” For it locks upon the lights, so that they should not expand from her downward, in order that the externals should not take hold in them; for as long as the lights are lacking GAR there is in them a grip for the externals, as above in the previous parts. However, at the time when the Yesod of Aba clothes in her, which is the secret of “passing upon the handles of the lock,” since it is in the secret of long, that is, GAR, there is no grip whatsoever for the externals in this great light, and therefore one gives to whoever stretches out his hand.
