*And I wish now to expand the explanation of the aforementioned statement. Behold, in Parashat Tetzaveh, page 187, and this is its language: it is written, "May the name of God be blessed." What is "blessed"? Its beginning is hard and its end is soft: Mem-Beit is hard, and it is certainly judgment, and afterward it is soft. Like this is the day of Rosh HaShanah — Mem-Beit — for with the forty-two letters the world was created, and on this account it was created with judgment; and afterward it is soft, etc.
