  1. *For this wisdom was engraved and brought forth, etc.; the engraving means that He made for it a receptacle in the manner of male and female, and He brought forth Bina, which is Ima, and it is the river that goes out of Eden to water the garden. And know that ZA is Tifferet Yisrael, and it is the son of YAH, and it was emanated from the coupling of Hochma and Bina, and after its emanation these brains were made for it.

  1. 1 For this wisdom was engraved and brought forth, etc. The engraving means that He made for it a receptacle in the manner of male and female: This refers to the Sifra DeTzniuta, where this language is found, and it says that Itgalif [engraved] means that it was incised, meaning that Hochma made for herself a receptacle in the manner of male and female. And the meaning of the matter, as above, in the adjacent item, is that this discernment, in which Hochma was corrected into male and female, already began in Nekudim, at the time of the rising of the bottom Hey to the Einayim, when the discernment of Nikvey Einayim was formed within them; and these Nikvey Einayim are the secret of the receptacle that Hochma made for herself, meaning the discernment of the correction of the screen and coarseness fit for coupling with the upper light, as is known. And see well the beginning of the adjacent item, where we elaborated on this matter.
  2. 2 And He brought forth Bina, who is Ima, and it is the river that goes out of Eden to water the garden: Meaning, as was explained in the adjacent item, that since Hochma, who is called Einayim, received unto herself the bottom Hey as her own Nukva, she thereby pushed out and brought forth Bina outside the Rosh. Study it there well. And this is what he says, “and He brought forth Bina” — for she became the discernment of Guf and HGT. And by this he explains the secret of the verse, “and a river goes out of Eden,” for Bina is called by the name river, and that river was at first included within Eden, since Hochma is called Eden, as is known. And before the rising of the bottom Hey into the Einayim, Bina was included within the Rosh together with Hochma, who is called Eden. But after the second restriction, when the bottom Hey rose into the Nikvey Einayim, the river went out, outside of Eden, meaning outside of the Rosh, as above, in the adjacent item.
