However, the reason they are two corners is this: the hairs issue from the excess of the brain, as mentioned; and the brain has within it the aspect of the Daat, which includes Hesed and Gevura, as above. And it is known that the male takes the Hassadim, and the female takes the Gevurot. Then their illumination goes out — the illumination of the Hassadim in the right corner, and the illumination of the Gevurot in the left corner. And ZON suckle and are bestown from these two corners: Zeir Anpin [receives] Hassadim from the right one, and the Nukva [receives] Gevurot from the left one. And this is the explanation of what is said in Parashat Bereshit, page 20, side A, concerning "And God made the two great lights," that they are Metzpatz and Metzpatz, from which the thirteen attributes of mercy (Midot deRachamim) are drawn, etc.
