*And we shall explain the matter of these NHY of Tvuna. For behold, only their externality is what the Tzelem and the aforementioned Mochin clothe in, for the inner light does not remain here, because ZA has no power to receive it; and behold, it departs from there and gathers in the first half of Tvuna, and there it remains. It is therefore found that the NHY of Tvuna are without their life. However, their very externality is what descends within ZA, they themselves.

1Only their externality is what the Tzelem and the aforementioned Mochin clothe in, for the inner light does not remain here, because ZA has no power to receive it: It is known that the lower one does not emerge from the internality of the upper one — that is, from the phase of the coarseness that is in the level of the upper one himself — but rather from the externality of the upper one, that is, the phase that is lower by one degree than the coarseness in the screen of the upper one himself. (As above, page 913, item 83.) It is thus found that the coupling made at the mouth of the Rosh of YESHSUT, upon the MAN of ZA that were included there in the screen of YESHSUT — this inclusion and coupling was only in the externality of YESHSUT, and not in the phase of the Partzuf of YESHSUT itself. It is thus found that this NHY and Tzelem, in which the Mochin of YESHSUT clothe, whose entire substance is the reflected light rising from that coupling, have no connection at all with the substance of the Partzuf of YESHSUT, but only with the externality of his Partzuf, that is, in that same phase where the MAN of ZA were included there, as above.
And this is what he means: “only their externality is what the Tzelem and the aforementioned Mochin clothe in, for the inner light does not remain here, because ZA has no power to receive it.” That is, as is clarified, that ZA has no connection or inclusion at all with the internality of YESHSUT, who is greater than him in degree, and will never be equal to him — and even at the time when ZA attains the Mochin of Haya, he is still found lower in degree than YESHSUT, as is known. And therefore ZA has no power to receive from the inner light of YESHSUT even the slightest amount.
2It departs from there and gathers in the first half of Tevuna, and there it remains: The matter of this departure has already been clarified above (page 1128, the passage beginning “The lights”) — see there. That by cause of the ascent of the bottom Hey to the eyes at the time of birth, the lights of NHY rose and clothed in the first half of the body, that is, in HGT, and the lights of HGT clothed in KHB. It is thus found that nothing of the inner light of Ima remained in these NHY, and therefore they became fit to clothe the Mochin of ZA, as above, in the adjacent item.
And you must recall here what the ARI wrote above (Part 11, item 106): that that internality of YESHSUT that rose at the time of birth, above, into the first half of the body, immediately gave the power of growth to the upper vessels, and they again brought out GAR of new lights and NHY of vessels for their greatness, as they were before; and only the externality of YESHSUT alone descended and diminished, in the secret of “crouching,” in order to clothe the Mochin of ZA — study it there well.
