And behold, it was explained above that the matter of the concealment and hiding of the light of AA of holy Atzilut caused a deficiency and a diminution in the Nukva of ZA. And behold, in Beriah, where the light of Aba which is there was also hidden, it therefore caused also a greater diminution in ZA (in AA) which is there, for it too was diminished from its measure. And in Yetzirah the stature of the upper Ima of Yetzirah was also diminished. And in Assiyah the stature of Aba of holiness was also diminished, until there is in Assiyah only the AA which is there, in its measure alone.

1In Beria, where the light of Aba which is there was also hidden, it therefore caused a greater diminution in AA which is there. As above. And not ZA that is there, for the ZA of Beria was not diminished, but on the contrary he is greater than Ima, for he has a surrounding light and Ima has no surrounding light. And likewise his saying “a greater diminution” has no meaning with respect to ZA, but only to AA, who was already diminished in Atzilut and concealed, and does not illuminate there except through AVI, and about this he says that in Beria, where the light of Aba is also concealed, so that it became lacking a Rosh [head], this caused AA a further, greater diminution than the diminution he had from Atzilut, for the HGT here becomes his revealed head, and he illuminates only from his TNHY, as above.
However, the fact that the diminution of AA is made dependent on the diminution of Aba of Beria requires explanation. And the matter is that the principal diminution made in Beria is that the AB of the Mazal was blocked, for the true AB, which is the Hochma of AA, does not illuminate even in the world of Atzilut, and all the Mochin of AB of Atzilut, called the Mochin of Aba, are from the discernment of Bina returning to Hochma, through the ascent of the HGT of AA to his HBD, and AVI, who clothe the HGT, ascend with them and become the GAR of AA; for these Mochin are called AB of the Mazal, as is known. And therefore, since the AB of the Mazal was also blocked and concealed in the level of SAG that illuminates in the Ima of Beria, which are the Mochin of Aba, this therefore caused AA a further, greater diminution, for his HGT too become a revealed head and do not illuminate there, since they are not fit to ascend to HBD as they ascend in Atzilut in order to raise AVI to the Mochin of AB of the Mazal; and it is found that only his NHY alone illuminate in Beria. Thus the diminution of AA depends on the diminution of Aba.
