  1. And these are the first nine in the beard of ZA. And from above illuminate El, Rachum, and Chanun, which are three of the thirteen of the head, which are the upper YHV of the beard of Arich Anpin, in Erech, Apayim, and VeRav Chesed, which are three. Thus three upper ones illuminate in these three. Also the three others, which are: VeEmet, Notzer Chesed, LaAlafim, illuminate in the two lower ones of ZA, which are: Nosse Avon, and VaPesha.

  1. 1El, Rachum, and Chanun, which are three of the thirteen of the Rosh [head], which are the upper YHV of the beard of AA, in Erech, Apayim, and VeRav Hesed, which are three. The ARI explains here the reception of the VAK of the corrections of the Dikna [beard] of ZA from the thirteen of AA, and arranges them according to the three names that are in the Dikna of AA, which are three HaVaYot and one that includes them. And it is known that these three HaVaYot are the discernment of MaLTz, and they are HBD, HGT and NHY: that the first four corrections are HBD, and the middle ones are HGT, and the lower ones are NHY.
And this is what he says, “that the first three of ZA, which are called in the Torah Erech, Apayim and VeRav Hesed, receive their illumination from the first three of AA, which are El, Rachum and Chanun, which are the YHV [Yod-Hey-Vav] of the first HaVaYaH of the corrections of the Dikna of AA. And it has already been explained above in the adjacent item that these three corrections of the Dikna of AA are the illumination of the NRNHY [Nefesh, Ruach, Neshama, Haya, Yechida] of Nefesh, which shines in the discernment of the Ibur [impregnation]: that the correction Rachum is the VAK of the Ibur, and the correction Chanun is the GAR of the Ibur. See there. Thus the three corrections of the Dikna of ZA receive from here complete NRNHY of the Ibur, which are the NRNHY of Nefesh; and they are the YHV of the first HaVaYaH of the corrections of the Dikna of AA.
  2. 2VeEmet, Notzer Hesed, LaAlafim — they shine in the two lower ones of ZA, which are Nosse Avon and VaPesha. Here he explains the illumination of the Ruach of ZA of the discernment of the Dikna [beard]. For the middle HaVaYaH of the corrections of the Dikna of AA is the discernment of HGT, as above, which is Ruach. And he informs us that he does not receive from the whole YHV of this HaVaYaH, but only from its VH alone, which means only the VAK of Ruach. For the YH of the middle HaVaYaH, which are Apayim and VeRav Hesed of the corrections of the Dikna of AA, do not shine to the corrections of the Dikna of ZA — only VH alone, which are VeEmet together with VeNotzer Hesed. And this is to indicate that he receives from this HaVaYaH only VAK alone, which are VH. Except that the Yod of the lower HaVaYaH of the corrections of the Dikna of AA joins with them, which is the correction LaAlafim. For the four letters of the lower HaVaYaH of the Dikna are the four lower corrections: LaAlafim, Nosse Avon, VaPesha and VeChataa. And so the correction LaAlafim is the Yod of this HaVaYaH. And the matter of this joining is because the principal part of ZA belongs to the four lower corrections of the Dikna of AA, since they are drawn from the Galgalta, in which ZA hangs and is gripped, as above (page 1580, item 141). See there, in the Inner Light. And therefore he needs the illumination of the lower HaVaYaH even in his Katnut [smallness/infancy]. And so, even in the discernment of Ruach of the Dikna of ZA, YHV shine to him from the corrections of the Dikna of AA, which are VH from the middle HaVaYaH, and Yod from the lower HaVaYaH.
