In the male there are twenty-two letters, and all of them are inscribed and stamped in his Yesod, as it is written in The Zohar on the verse "and he lay in that place" — that there are twenty-two letters in "that place." And when the drop goes out from there, it goes out comprising the twenty-two letters of the Yesod of the male. Likewise, the twenty-two letters in the Nukva [female] are inscribed and stamped in her Yesod; and when the drop of the male enters there, it is detained there and takes form by the force of these twenty-two letters.
