From these twenty-two letters in the Yesod of the Nukva [female], one door and one hinge are made — namely, the single letter Dalet [whose name also means "door"], which has that thorn, like a kind of Yod, at the back of the Dalet, between the two lines — the Vavs — that are in it, like the hinge of a door, thus: ד. The Yod between the two Vavs is the hinge, and the two Vavs are the door; and the joining of it all is called one Dalet, and in Gematria they are twenty-two: one Yod and two Vavs, as mentioned. Thus the twenty-two letters in her Yesod took form in the discernment of one Dalet [door] and its hinge, which is the Yod in the middle of the two Vavs — for upon this Yod, which is like a hinge, turn the two Vavs, which are the discernment of the door.
