But because the day is more excellent than the night, for when we evaluate the value of the Shema of the evening with the Shema of the sacrifices, certainly the Shema of the sacrifices is more excellent from its own side, for the excellence of the Shema of the evening is not dependent on itself, but only on what preceded it, which is the aspect of day; but in itself it is only an inferior level, for being the measure of night. But the inferiority of the Shema of the sacrifices is not from its own side, but only from what preceded it, which is the aspect of night; but in itself it is excellent, for being the measure of day. And when we evaluate these two values, certainly the value of the excellence drawn from its own side is greater than the value of the excellence drawn from what preceded it, which is the power of another and not its own power. Therefore the Shema of the sacrifices has the power and ability to draw two levels together, and they are the encircling ones of the Katnut of Ima and the inner ones of the Katnut of Aba.
