  1. And Yaakov is a chariot to the six externals, and Moshe to the internals — this one from within and this one from without, as is stated in the portion Balak and in the Tikkunim. And this is what we say: Moshe merited Bina, as is stated in the Ra'aya Mehemna, that he merited the internal extremities, which are from Bina, and its spreading until Hod, in the secret of the fifty gates of Bina. And this is the course of the Tree of Life of five hundred years.

This was explained above in the words of the ARI, page 899, item 52, and page 902, items 59 and 60: that Moshe merited the posterior of the upper Bina, which is the secret of four times thirty combinations of Elokim, and the posterior of Tevuna, which are five times twenty-four combinations; and the Tevuna is externality and the Bina is internality. And this is what he says, that Yaakov merited the externality, namely the posterior of Tevuna that clothe in ZA; and Moshe merited the internality, namely the posterior of the upper Bina that clothe in ZA. And see page 901, the passage beginning “and this is what he says, Moshe.”
