1On the sixth day ZON coupled in the discernment of back to back, and Adam HaRishon was created in this discernment alone. The words are not according to their plain meaning, for there is no coupling at all in back to back, but every coupling is face to face. Rather, the intention is that ZON ascended for Ibur to the palace of AVI and coupled there upon the discernment of the MAN [Mayin Nukvin] of AVI, ZA clothing the discernment of Aba and the Nukva the discernment of Ima; and there they were impregnated with the soul of Adam HaRishon. And that it is called back to back is only because they coupled upon the MAN of AVI, which in the discernment of ZA is regarded as back to back, as the ARI wrote above, page 670, item 76. See there.
