1The VAK of BON, who are the kings that died: It is known that from the discernment of the vessels, only seven vessels came out in the ZA of Nekudim: KHB, HGT, until the chest, and the point of the chest is the Malchut within it. And from the discernment of the lights, there is nothing there but the light of Nefesh, and it is known that the light of Nefesh clothes in the vessel of Keter, meaning in the vessel of Keter that is within each one of these seven vessels, as explained above at length. And this was at the time of the Katnut of the ten Sefirot of Nekudim, which is the first division there. And afterward, in the second division, when AVI returned to the discernment of Rosh in the state of face to back, the seven vessels of ZA received the discernment of Ruach and Nefesh from Ima, as above, in the adjacent item. However, in the Ibur [impregnation] of ZA, only the discernment of the first division of Nekudim was corrected, for at that time there was only the light of Nefesh alone in the seven vessels of ZA.
2By the power that the VAK of MA came out now and were mixed with them: The levels of the couplings that come out in the world of Atzilut are called MA. And the Anach that remained after the breaking of the vessels from the world of Nekudim are called BON. Therefore you have no small spark in the world of Atzilut that is not included of MA and BON, for the records of BON rise in the discernment of MAN [Mayin Nukvin] to the couplings that are in Atzilut, and according to the level that comes out from the coupling of the upper light on these records, so the vessels and sparks of BON rise and are corrected. And this is what is written, “And this is by the power that now the VAK of MA came out and were mixed with them,” meaning that at first the level of Nefesh came out on the records of ZA, in the inclusion of the coupling within AVI, and this level of Nefesh is called MA, as above; and according to this measure, the VAK of BON rose and were corrected, namely the ZAT of Nekudim from the time of their Katnut, meaning from the first division, when they had the level of Nefesh, which was lost from them in the breaking of the vessels; and now they returned and acquired this Nefesh through the level of Nefesh of MA.
3At first, at the time of the coupling, six Malchuts that are in the VAK of BON were clarified: For they are clothed in six Ketarim. As is known, the light of Nefesh is clothed in the vessel of Keter. In such a way that the light of Nefesh was clothed in the six Ketarim that are in the six vessels, KHB, HGT, of ZA. But from the discernment of the lights, the VAK are called HGT NHY, and it is found that six Malchuts were clarified from them, which are one Malchut in each edge. And the reason they are regarded by the name Malchuts, and not by the name NHY, is that at the time of the coupling, the six vessels of ZA rose there just as they were at the time of the Katnut of Nekudim in the first division, as above; and behold, at that time there was not yet any correction of lines in these vessels of ZAT, for only the GAR of Nekudim were corrected there in the correction of lines, and not the ZAT — therefore the ZAT came out only in one line, one beneath the other, as is known. And therefore now, at the time of their ascent from BYA to the coupling in AVI, there is not in the level of Malchut the three lines called NHY, but only the discernment of one line, called the level of Malchut, as is known. But afterward, in the three days of absorption, these six vessels were corrected in the discernment of the correction of lines through the couplings of AVI, and then the level of Malchut is regarded by the name NHY, for the three lines of the level of Malchut are called NHY, as is written before us in the words of the ARI.
